    James P. Brennan

    Jim Brennan is an attorney who specializes in civil trial work and workers' compensation. He has over 30 years experience has had the opportunity and pleasure of representing a varied client base from large international corporations to individuals on the lowest scale of the socioeconomic stratum.

    Jim began his post secondary education studying for the Roman Catholic priesthood. He attended St. Thomas Seminary in Bloomfield, CT, St. John's Seminary in Brighton MA and the Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C. After leaving the seminary, Jim worked with Waterbury Department of Public Assistance where he had the opportunity to work closely with many of the fine people who benefit from the programs St. Vincent DePaul Mission offers.

    He then attended the University of Connecticut School Of Law and upon graduation after spending a year as a judicial law clerk, returned to his native Waterbury to practice law. Jim has been acknowledged as a Certified Civil Trial Attorney by the National Board of Trial Advocacy since 1996, a recognition accorded to only approximately 4% of attorneys in America. Jim's greatest joy as an attorney is to be with and help people at very stressful and painful times in their lives. He offers his legal services to St. Vincent DePaul Mission, pro bono, to help the Mission serve its deserving clients.

    Jim's roots in the city go deep, and he is married to Waterbury native Terri Fonte. He currently lives in Cheshire where he has been in involved in political, civic and religious affairs for many years. He is the proud father of two adult daughters, Lauren and Meredith.

    Jim has been familiar with the phenomenal work of St. Vincent DePaul Mission since its inception. This is his second six-year term as a member of the Board. He previously served as Vice Chairman of the Board and when he returned to the Board he accepted the position as Secretary. Jim is awed by the amazing work that the St. Vincent DePaul Mission staff does for and with the neediest of our brothers and sisters. He like the other members of the Board and the Mission's many volunteers and contributors is passionate about making certain that the wonderful and so needed work of St. Vincent DePaul Mission continues.
