Prior to joining the board, Vivian had been working with the St. Vincent DePaul Mission for the past four years. She was first drawn to the Mission as a volunteer with her three children as part of her parish, St. Bridget of Swedens Social Outreach program. Her children served with her and they immediately fell in love with the people, but especially the children. She could see that this was one place that her kids could truly realize how blessed they are and there was such a need to help here. The Mission's impact on her children has been tremendous. This was a place so close to home where her children could see that they can truly help others. Their compassion for the residents was real and it was something she needed to foster. That is when her love and interest in the Mission began.
