When considering the cost of living and underemployment, families experience enormous challenges in securing and maintaining safe, affordable, and quality housing. In fact, families are often put in the unfortunate position of having to choose between paying for rent, or other necessities of daily living. With this in mind, the lack of affordable housing has driven many families into homelessness. To help alleviate this problem, the Mission purchased two parcels of land in 1989 and constructed sixteen units of quality, safe and affordable housing for the low income families.
