His Authentic Spirit and Compassion Inspired Others to Aid Those in Need.
The Mission was founded in 1978 by Rev. Philip J. Cascia and guided faithfully by him until his passing in 2006.
He lived life with an interminable spirit and was a force of good for those in need. His philosophy of care was simple: to assist our less fortunate neighbors according to their specific needs so they may recover their full sense of self-worth and rightful place in the community. Putting his philosophy into action inspired others to honor his mission, and what was initially started by a generous group of volunteers is now an array of programs designed to address the many challenges and difficulties of those in distress.
He developed many of the programs we now see today, which help over 500 people in our community every day who experience poverty, homelessness, hunger, and mental health challenges.
As we honor his Mission, his Spirit lives on.
